Microsoft Clarity comes with every website we build.

Clarity is Microsoft's free behaviour analytics tool. It shows where visitors click, how far they read and where they give up, with no traffic cap and no bill. We install it on the 3 hour landing page, the 24 hour website and every studio build, so the first weeks after launch are measured rather than guessed.

What it shows you

Four views of the same visit.

Google Analytics counts visits and tells you where they came from. Clarity shows what happened once they arrived. The two sit side by side; neither replaces the other.

  • Heatmaps

Click maps show what visitors press, including the things that are not links. Scroll maps show how far down the page most people actually get. Area maps compare how much attention each part of a page earns.

  • Session recordings

A replay of a visit as the visitor saw it: the cursor, the taps, the scrolling, the pause before the form. Filter to the visitors who did not enquire and watch what stopped them.

  • Insights

Clarity labels the friction for you: rage clicks, dead clicks, quick backs, excessive scrolling and JavaScript errors, each linked to the recordings that show it happening.

  • Copilot summaries

Clarity's AI summarises a set of recordings or a heatmap in plain language. A starting point for the review, not a decision: the recordings are where you confirm it.

Why every build

Because the month after launch is when the answers are cheapest.

A new website is a set of decisions about what visitors will do. The first weeks test every one of them. Without behaviour data, the only signal is the enquiry count, and it arrives too slowly to learn from.

  • It is free and unlimited, so there is no reason to launch without it.
  • It is installed and checked before launch, in a Clarity project you own, so the data is yours from the first visit.
  • It masks what visitors type by default, so the recordings are safe to watch.
  • It gives every change after launch a before and an after, instead of an opinion.
  • It makes the A/B version of a landing page a decision with evidence behind it, not a guess about which headline to try.

FAQ

Questions about Clarity

What is Microsoft Clarity?

Microsoft Clarity is a free behaviour analytics tool for websites. A small script records how visitors use each page and turns it into heatmaps, session recordings and automated insights such as rage clicks and dead clicks. It is made by Microsoft, has no traffic limits and no paid tier, and works alongside Google Analytics rather than replacing it.

Is Microsoft Clarity included in the price of a 7 Days To Launch website?

Yes. Every package includes Clarity: the 3 Hour Landing Page, the 24 Hour Website and the full studio build. Installing it costs nothing, Microsoft does not charge for it, and we set it up in a Clarity project you own before the site goes live.

Who owns the Clarity data on my website?

You do. The Clarity project is created under your own Microsoft account, and we are added to it as a collaborator for the build and the review. If you ever stop working with us, the project, its history and its settings stay with you.

Do you use Clarity instead of Google Analytics?

No, alongside it. Analytics counts sessions, attributes them to a source and records conversions. Clarity shows the behaviour on the page: where people click, how far they scroll and where they hesitate. If you already have a Google Analytics 4 property we link the two, so a segment that underperforms in Analytics can be watched in Clarity.

Can I add Microsoft Clarity to a website you did not build?

Yes, and you can do it yourself. Clarity gives you a script to paste into the site's head, a Google Tag Manager template, and plugins for most platforms. Set the masking level, name it in your privacy policy, and check the first recordings. If you would rather we did it as part of a wider job, say so when you send a brief.
